About This Project
One word …… Freeeezing!!
3 jumpers, 1 coat and a scarf later and still cold. Not all shoots are the glamorous back scene shots you see from America’s Next Top Model!
The finished photographs looked so polished, and a little futuristic, we were really pleased with them. We had an early start in Liverpool One’s Ice Bar and had a brief of Cold Glam! There was only one thing for it …. Purple lips!
We had a quick look at the styling section and seen lots of silver and black so we decided on a black smokey eye really blended out to look soft and perfect skin. We then used a Stargazer Purple lipstick with Illamasqua Boost over the top. We like trying out different lipsticks and find that expensive is not always the best! Stargazer is only a couple of pounds so is super affordable but high in pigment and really effective!
So when on a shoot each look needs touching up whether it’s lips or skin, but on this shoot, time was of the essence! As you can imagine when going into the bar to shoot we could only be in there for 5 minutes at a time as it was far too cold (having a foil coat ready for the model in-between takes). Makeup wise turned out to be a bit of a nightmare! As soon as the model stepped on set her face was turning red and a bit blotchy !! Argggh!
Trying to make a freezing model appear warm was not a easy task.
We ended up using a yellow based foundation and bronzer with a little bit of colour corrector in Illamasqua’s Bedub to counteract the redness when she stepped into what felt like a giant fridge!
Lesson learnt though, always be prepared!!
