I Am Art
About This Project
When we first got this call sheet the only thing written in the description menu was ‘COLOUR’. Instantly we got excited, we then scrolled down to the model name, it was none other than Elaine Nturo from Sky Living’s ‘The Face’ Season 1.
We had a meeting with the production house who gave us direction of how they wanted the outcome of the shots and how the images were going to be used.
Whilst going to the shoot we decided to take two previous students with us to give them some experience on a pro shoot and to help us out. Our kit was packed out with so much colour and different products we laid them over two tables!
As the shoot title was called “I Am Art” we didn’t do a face chart we wanted to create a look of free spirit and use the colours that came to us on the day.
After setting up, the models arrived, all of them were unbelievably beautiful. We worked on each model one at a time and set out a look for each. We wanted to create colour but in a beautiful way rather than avant garde.
We achieved each look mainly using pencils, lipsticks and eyeshadows, and of course Illamasqua’s Skin Base for that super clean flawless skin!
The different skin tones were amazing to work with, looked effective on camera and had a few beautiful contrasts to all the different colours. Not only were we completely happy with the finished look but it was an honour to work with such a great team.
After the shoot was over we received a copy of the edited photos and wow they were stunning. We also received a lovely email to say not one but two images made the front cover of a magazine as a choice for their readers!
We couldn’t have been happier!! Well done team!
