Collaboration with Sane Seven
About This Project
In Collab with the fantastic Sane Seven Production Team and the talented Photographer Viktorija Grigorjevaite
I was called for a shoot last week and did not get much notice so it was all hands on deck!
We got given a brief of the clothes, which was a grey top on a matt grey background and the hair was big!!
Because of the matt background we wanted to make a contrast and choose a shiny effect on the eye, which is not easy to achieve. We had a quick run through and chose to apply a black gloss over the eye makeup rather than using an oil as the effect has more of a sleek shiny effect than grungy.
On set we had to work super quick on the eyes so I started on the brow and feathered Illamasqua’s Eye brow cake through the brow as Meg’s (model) brows are full and we wanted to keep them quite natural.
I then applied the eye makeup and done a black smokey eye buffing Maybelline gel eyeliner in black all over the lid to give a jet black base. I then pressed on Illamasqua’s Obsidian (blackest eyeshadow out there, definite kit must have!) on top to seal the gel and blended it out with wolf Illamasqua’s warm brown.
I then prepared Meg’s skin. Meg had already cleansed, toned and moisturised her skin so I applied Illamasqua’s Hydra Veil. I LOVE Hydra Veil!! ( I will be doing a blog on this so keep your eye out ) I then buffed in Illamasqua Skin Base into the skin with a Real Techniques Brush then went over it with a Beauty Blender Sponge to get a super flawless finish. I contoured after I applied the foundation with Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick in Walnut. Then applied Mac Vino Pencil all over the lip.
To get a glossy eye we positioned the model and just before shooting we applied a black gloss over the lid. We had to work quickly to get the shot as the lid creases quite quickly.
When the shots came back we were so pleased with the finished result, maybe we do work well under pressure!
